KFH raises £16,000 for London Youth

20th June, 2017

Six months into our charity partnership with London Youth, we are thrilled to announce we have raised over £16,000 so far.

London Youth is a charity that supports a network of diverse community youth groups and clubs across the capital. Their mission is to support and challenge young Londoners to become the best they can be.

As charity partner our role is to use our branch and office network across London to build awareness of the charity and to raise much needed funds for London Youth and specific London Youth clubs and centres local to KFH branches.

Julian Peak, Sales Director, said: “At the start of this year we wanted to build awareness of London Youth and raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. But we also wanted to have some fun while we did it and I’m so pleased with how staff from across the company have come together for such a great cause.

“£16,000 is an amazing amount so far, but we’re entering the summer when a lot of fundraising challenges and events are taking place and we have dozens of eager members of staff taking part in order to contribute to the fundraising total. We’re also organising a company-wide fundraising day on 7 July so we hope to boost our fundraising total significantly by the end of the summer.”

Over the first six months of the year, KFH staff have organised and taken part in a number of fundraising initiatives including:

The London Marathon

Three members of staff ran the Virgin Money London Marathon in April. Elly Hayes (KFH London Bridge), Leigh Munday (KFH Balham) and Emma Munday (Londonwide Conveyancing) took on the challenge and raised over £5,200 in the process.

Fundraising nights

Staff across KFH’s south east London branches organised fundraising pub quiz and bowling nights. Staff in the region came together on the two nights to flex their competitive muscles and raise more than £1,300.

Toughest obstacle race

22 KFH adventurers trained hard and took on one of the most challenging obstacle races in the UK. On one of the hottest days of the year the amazing team ran the 8km Toughest race, tackling 40 obstacles in the process. In addition to the amazing team spirit created by the challenge, the team raised nearly £7,000.

Food drive

As part of our support for New Horizon Youth Centre – a London Youth supported centre in Kings Cross – KFH’s central London branches organised a food drive. Staff gave generously and 16 boxes of much needed food were delivered to New Horizons on 19 June.
