London Youth Awards 2022

11th November, 2022

On Monday 7 November, we joined our charity partner at Conway Hall to celebrate the first annual London Youth Awards since 2019.

The London Youth Awards brought together youth workers, young people, policy makers and supporters to recognise the best of youth work in the Capital.

The awards, which showcased the diversity of youth organisations throughout London, were categorised into three themes: Somewhere to go, Something to do, and Someone to trust. These themes represented the core needs of young people, encompassing everything from arts and culture, employability, outdoor education, sport development to social action.

As well as a gallery room of artwork to enjoy, there were performances from youth groups and young people, including Project Zero WF CIC (a youth group working towards zero deaths of a young person due to knife crime or violence); Afroditetoolively, (a young garage MC, singer, producer, and DJ); and Barking & Dagenham Youth Dance (a grassroots charity that runs arts/community projects, dance workshops, and career pathway activities for children aged 5-19).

Rob Owen (Senior Team Leader, Lettings Property Management) was invited to the awards as our top fundraiser for 2022. He commented:

"It was a wonderful event showcasing not just the passion at the heart of London Youth but each and every individual associated with youth work. I was given the opportunity to be interviewed about why fundraising for London Youth was important to me and the company and hope my words will inspire more to do the same."
