KFH takes on Mount Snowdon

22nd March, 2022

This past Saturday, 18 March, 13 of our people from across our south east London branch network, climbed Mount Snowdon to raise money for our charity partner, London Youth. The group raised over £6,000 of unrestricted funds which will go towards supporting a network of diverse community youth groups and clubs across the Capital.

Rachel Carroll, Sales Regional Office Coordinator recounts the weekend.

"We couldn’t have picked a better weekend to visit Snowdonia as the sun was beaming down on us when we arrived at our converted barn complete with stunning views and a hot tub.

Drinks were poured and we all sat down to a home cooked chilli with the buzz of what we were going to achieve the next day. Then we started playing beer pong…

The next morning, we all scrapped ourselves out of bed and made our way to the base of the mountain. With Kylo (the dog) needing to pull a few of us up the path and with 50mph winds cutting through us, there were definitely a few times that we had to remind ourselves why we were doing this. Three hours later, we reached the summit and we all felt like we were ‘King (or Queen) of the World’!

The descent was just as hard, as the blisters, sore muscles and hangovers really kicked in but the cold beer when we reached the bottom was heaven.

We have raised over £6,000 which is an incredible achievement and massive thanks go to everyone who climbed but also to all those who sponsored us."

Those who took part were:

Rachel Carroll, Ellie Saunders, Amelia Harris Holly Seculer, Maxine Harris, Emma Thorburn, Marcus Brown, Alex Hoadley, Laura Maikovaite, Matt Stanway, Andrew Stavrou, Tate Smith and Toby Harris.
