KFH at Leaders in Community Careers’ Fair

7th September, 2021

On Friday 27 August, Alice Moss (Talent Acquisition Manager), Rory Long (Senior Digital Marketing Executive) and Louis Pople (Talent Development Partner) attended a careers’ fair organised by Leaders in Community (LiC), a youth organisation affiliated with our charity partner London Youth.

Leaders in Community is a youth-led charity set up in 2009 by a group of young adults who wanted to improve their local services in Tower Hamlets. The organisation provides a variety of free creative learning programmes throughout the year, aimed to empower young people in leadership and governance.

Alice comments: “We met some incredibly driven young people with some exciting career plans, and those who are in the process of planning the next steps of their education and career paths. With all of our experience, we gave them a rounded insight into KFH, the different business divisions and roles, as well as the working life and training programmes we provide. It was great to speak to them about our experiences and offer them some ideas they might not have thought of.”

Rory adds: “They were an impressive group and quite a few had a clear idea of where they wanted to be and what interests and skills they wanted to develop. It was good to highlight to them that some of the skills were applicable to and in high demand in the property sector, which I think they took on board or left them with food for thought.”

Job Kabamba, Delivery and Development Officer at Leaders in Community, said: “On behalf of everyone at LiC, I would like to thank KFH for helping us accomplish a fantastic careers’ fair! We had so much great feedback from our young people, and we can definitely say we achieved our goal of helping young people be more aware of the various career paths available to them.”
