Career success stories - Simon Jermak

Simon Jermak has always been interested in property, but he only started his career at KFH back in 2019. In December 2023, he was delighted to be offered the role of lettings branch director in our Hammersmith branch. Below he reflects on his career so far and recognises the colleagues who have inspired him along the way.

My passion and curiosity for property definitely started at a young age. With my Grandad being a property developer on a large scale, I was constantly surrounded by projects and getting the chance to see flat land or old buildings converted into blocks of apartments which were then rented or sold.

After gaining face to face sales experience in a different industry, I felt ready to try my hand in estate agency. In 2019 I started my career in the property sector with KFH in our Kingston branch, which those of you who worked in that market know, was a baptism of fire. Joining as the fourth negotiator with 60 properties on our instruction list, I had to learn quickly. Within three months, I was offered a permanent role and had developed a love for the job and a buzz off of getting my offers agreed. 

In the first year, I saw how strong my colleagues were in their roles and knew that what I lacked in experience I needed to make up for in hunger, a strong work ethic and a drive to prove myself and succeed. This competitive environment gave me a great foundation for the rest of my career. Fast forward a few years and I had gained a huge amount of experience both professionally and personally through KFH by working in a variety of successful offices in the south west region. This allowed me to develop further and gave me the opportunity to work under some amazing branch directors, all of which I learnt a huge amount from and still use their examples and practices today.

In December 2023, I was both delighted and humbled when I was offered the role of branch director in Hammersmith. I was of course excited and nervous about such a big opportunity, but even in the weeks leading up to starting the new role, I was put at ease by the huge amount of support Esmee Jones (KFH Regional Lettings Director) had given me. I have been fortuitous by the many relationships I have built with the internal teams within KFH who support me daily.
