KFH targets £80,000 for London Youth

Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward (KFH), has set a fundraising target of £80,000 in 2018 for its charity partnership with London Youth.
The target is a 33% increase (£20,000) on the amount raised in 2017 for the charity which supports a network of diverse community youth groups and clubs across London.
Over the first year of the partnership with London Youth, KFH raised over £60,000 through a variety of challenge events, fund raising initiatives and local activities.*
Julian Peak, Sales Director at KFH, said: “We’re excited to get the second year of our partnership with London Youth underway. The first year was a great success with lots of money raised, vital support provided to clubs and groups in need and a lot of unity across the company through a wide range of initiatives. In our second year we aim to continue building awareness of this outstanding charity but also pushing ourselves to raise even more, with a punchy target of over £80,000.”
The first year of support for London Youth by KFH has already has an impact on the charity and its clubs.
Rosemary Watt-Wyness, CEO of London Youth, comments: “We are hugely pleased to be working with KFH over the next year as their charity partner. Over 2017 they helped us raise an amazing £63,000 to support children and young people in London. KFH has been fantastic in how they have connected with the community youth organisations that are often overlooked but are right on the doorstep of local businesses.
“These organisations – our members – have told me how great the relationship has been and how KFH staff have really thrown themselves into developing these local partnerships and raising money to provide vital support for young people. With 700,000 children in London living below the poverty line this couldn’t be more important.
“Together we are aiming to achieve even more this year so we are extremely grateful for the support of KFH for London Youth and for young Londoners.”
What the clubs have to say:
The money raised by KFH in 2017 was split across London Youth and member clubs. Some of these clubs have commented on how the partnership has already benefitted them.
The Avenues Youth Project: “The additional funding was a God send and was used to buy 4 new mics and an equaliser for the recording studio. In addition, the funds allowed for us to pay a youth worker/producer to come in and deliver studio sessions over the six week summer holidays. These session attracted young people from as far as Watford who successfully produced tracks and are now members that attend regularly.”
Streatham Youth and Community Trust: “Thanks to the fantastic support of KFH we have been able to upgrade all of our IT for staff. This includes new desktops for 5 staff and laptops for 3 staff.”
New Horizon Youth Centre: “The support from KFH has allowed us to build on the impact that the EET programme has already made in our young people. This programme has had unprecedented results with some of the most disadvantaged and marginalised young people.”
London Basketball Association: “KFH’s fundraising has helped fund our five week summer camp hosting 100 young people each week and has supported the cost of providing qualified officials for the league. We have also benefitted from inspiring and insightful guest speeches.”
