KFH appointed to manage iconic PRS scheme in south west London

5th November, 2017

  • KFH has been appointed to manage Britannia Point, the 182 unit PRS development in Colliers Wood.

  • KFH has also been appointed as joint lettings agent and sole lettings manager for the block.

  • Britannia Point is the landmark residential development of the iconic Brown and Root Tower.

Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward (KFH) has been appointed as block manager, joint lettings agent and lettings manager of Britannia Point, Colliers Wood.

Britannia Point is a new landmark development from Criterion Capital. Originally known as the Brown and Root Tower and voted as London’s ugliest building in 2006, the redevelopment has transformed the seventeen-storey former office block into a striking, glass-clad residential scheme. The development comprises 182 apartments with retail and leisure facilities on the ground floor.

The private rented sector has doubled in size in the last decade[1] and is set to expand further as larger numbers of tenants rent for longer periods.  It is estimated that the private rented sector will make up 24% of all households by 2021[2] (up from 20% in 2015/16). Britannia Point is the latest addition to KFH’s PRS portfolio and comes after the successful work with Grainger, Dorrington, Essential Living and Freshwater Group.

Paul Masters, Group Operations Director of KFH, says: “This appointment is an exciting one for us. With the rise of corporate investors and developers, our tailored PRS service is designed to optimise the lettings and management of developments such as this. Our network and experience, with 10,000 properties let every year, 25,000 residential units under management and more than £3.1bn of residential blocks in our care, means we are best placed to offer this type of service in London.”

Richard Benson, Managing Director of Block and Estate Management at KFH, says: “The nature of the market is changing with corporate investors becoming more important to plug the housing gap that private landlords cannot fill. They are able to capitalise on the increased demand for high quality rented accommodation by investing in large schemes such as this. These investors need to know that their asset is in safe hands and that the tenants are being taken care of. Our expertise managing large blocks across London means the fit with Britannia Point has been an easy and natural one.”

Carol Pawsey, Group Lettings Director of KFH, says: “Britannia Point offers impressive accommodation with great transport links. Through our network of more than 40 lettings offices across the Capital, we are able to access high quality UK and international tenants and ensure that their tenancies are managed in a professional and efficient way.”
