In mid-May, the Government lifted a number of restrictions that allowed home moves and physical viewings to recommence. However the advice is that, where possible, virtual viewings should take place first to minimise the number of property visits required to find your future home.
Researching and shortlisting properties online should be the first step in your property search. In many instances, we have video tours available on our website. If a property does not have a video tour, please review the images and information available to determine your level of interest.
You can then schedule a video conference with one of our local experts to discuss your requirements and any properties you have shortlisted in more detail. It is a good idea to prepare a list of questions in advance so you get all of the information you need to make a decision about scheduling a physical viewing. We understand this is a different way of finding a property for most people and you might have more questions than usual – don’t be afraid to ask as many as needed to get a sense of the property and whether it matches your requirements. You can also use tools like Google Street View to get a feel for the local area.
If you have decided you are interested in a property and would like to schedule a physical viewing, there are a few things to be aware of:
- We have strict measures in place to ensure the safety of all parties involved in viewing a property. We will share our policy with you ahead of your appointment and we ask that you adhere to it carefully for your safety and ours
- Viewing parties must be restricted to a single family or household group and ideally in groups of no more than two people. If more than one household wishes to view, we ask that the applicants take turns, with the others waiting outside until the first viewer has vacated the property
Under the new Government guidance, we are allowed to conduct physical property valuations. As with physical viewings, we have strict measures in place to ensure safety and will share our policy with you ahead of your appointment.
However, we are continuing to offer virtual valuations if this is your preference. We will schedule a video conference so you can walk us through your property and answer questions so we can provide you with an up-to-date valuation.
If you are curious about the market but not sure if you are ready to sell or let, one of our local experts would be delighted to schedule a no obligation call to discuss current conditions.
For more information or to arrange a viewing or valuation of your property, please contact your local KFH branch.
