Moving home unaffected by national lockdown

Updated 05.01.2021

Despite the fact that a national lockdown has been announced, moving home remains unaffected, providing safety guidelines are followed.

This is good news for buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords alike, especially currently, where demand for properties in London is unprecedented.

Advice from the Government clearly states that moving home is still allowed in the national lockdown.

The information, published on the Gov.uk website states:

“You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary.

“Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings.”

And as has been the case since moving home was allowed again a number of months ago, they go on to say:

“Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing and wearing a face covering.”

If you have any further questions around this, then please contact your local branch. They can also assist you with other questions related to moving home, including arranging a valuation.
