As KFH expands its presence in London with a new lettings branch set to open in Southfields during Q2, we talk to Caroline Basma, Lettings Manager of KFH’s Earlsfield branch about the south west London lettings market.
“The market is incredibly buoyant at present and we have enjoyed a tremendous start to 2016. After a quiet December, we’ve seen a huge influx of interest from tenants, with more than three times the number of applicants registering than in the same period during 2015.
“Stock levels have also been impressive, and we are in the unusual position of having good levels of rental properties, as well as active tenants seeking new homes. We have a wide array of property currently available, ranging from studio apartments in the £1,000 pcm category, to family homes available for rent at £5,500 pcm. The combination of increased tenant registrations and more properties on the market has led to a sharp rise in the number of viewing taking place. In turn, this has led to more than double the number of offers being received for rental properties compared to the same period last year. Our corporate relocation services department is also experiencing strong interest and we have already agreed multiple lets for professional tenants.
“Due to our strong branch network, we are able to place tenants in other areas of south west London, including Putney, Battersea, Tooting and Wimbledon. With the imminent arrival of our Southfields lettings branch, we are looking forward to providing clients with even more expertise, area knowledge and local coverage.”
