Growing demand among house buyers in South East London has driven up average prices in Catford by a fifth over 2015.
Average sold prices in the district currently stand at £326,200 having risen nearly £55,000 (20%) from January 2015*. Prices in Catford have risen at double the pace of the wider Lewisham borough over the same period (10%).
Demand has increased in the area specifically because it offers good value compared to many surrounding locations aswell as having an increasing array of good quality amenities available to the local community.
Ronke Maye, Sales Manager at our Catford branch, said: “Surrounding areas like Hither Green, Brockley and Forest Hill have grown in popularity in recent years as buyers hunt for value outside Dulwich, Brixton and Herne Hill. Catford is now feeling the benefit of that demand as buyers begin to recognise what the area has to offer. As well as some beautiful Victorian and Edwardian properties, lovely parks and easy access to central London, the community spirit is what I feel makes Catford such a great place to live.”
Our Catford area guide provides details what the area has to offer and we recently met Lucy Abell who gave her insight into what it is like to live Catford.
