When renting, is the landlord or tenant responsible for property repairs?

A tenant must pay for anything that is broken or damaged in the rented property during the tenancy. The cost of property repairs is always deducted at the end of the tenancy.  A tenant must use the rented property in what’s called 'a tenant like manner', meaning that the tenant will be responsible for any repairs that are the fault of the tenant.
